Heirloom
Quilting was started in 1996 with the purchase of the Gammill
Classic machine from Linda Taylor's Electric Quilters in Texas.
Machine quilting had really only just begun about that time - it was
taking its first steps away from being the run-of-the-mill mattress
cover quilting to becoming an ART.
Within a couple of years, MQS or Machine Quilters' Showcase had its
first venue in Springfield, Missouri and I got to attend.
Quilters are a wonderful group - it's an instant bond with each
other when quilters gather. We certainly gathered that year!
And every year since then, and at even more shows now across the
United States.
In addition to the machine quilting, patchwork lessons are taught,
including Square in a Square® which was invented by Jodi Barrows of
Texas. In fact, I now am a Certified Square in a Square®
Instructor - currently the only one in Oklahoma. It's a Fun,
Fast, Fabulous and Finished way to piece tops.
