Dear Precious Parent: Last month I shared my heart's desire with the Lord, and with you--I want the Lord to reign in me--AGAIN. I needed a fresh touch from Jesus. I realize I had slowly been "taking over" control of my life, taking the "reigns" from the Lord. Shortly after I uploaded last month's devotional, God starting answering my prayer as He began drawing me closer to Himself. It is wonderful to sense His presence while reading His Word, enjoying His creation, and even while driving in the car--AGAIN. Recently, Gary and I were talking about one of his favorite scriptures, Proverbs 3:5-6. The NIV reads:
The part "in all your ways acknowledge Him" really stood out as Gary and I talked. We decided to acknowledge Him, seek Him, seek His guidance in every situation--regardless of how small it may seem. And God has given us direction and "made our paths straight" even in the most simplest of concerns and questions. It is so easy to go back to our old ways, to start making decisions and choices on our own, instead of seeking the Lord in everything. Oh, how I want the Lord to reign in me daily! And, oh, how I want the Lord to reign in my children and grandchildren each day, too. So, I bow before the Lord and lift Rex and his precious wife, Lanie, and their son, Beaux, to the Lord daily. I bow before the Lord and lift Luke and his precious wife, Angela, and their daughter, Bella, to the Lord daily. And GOOD NEWS, now I have added "Baby Barrett" to the daily prayer list--Precious Angela is pregnant! I want my children and grandchildren to submit to the Lord, that He may reign in their lives minute by minute and day by day. That is the only way they will be able to fulfill the plan and purpose the Lord has for their lives! Precious parent, as we pray, may every fiery dart the enemy has targeted against our children and grandchildren be stopped in the Mighty Name of Jesus.! Be encouraged, "The prayer of a righteous person (mom or dad) is powerful and effective" James 5:16b. Below is the Scripture Prayer Calendar*--a tool to help us pray God's Word over our loved ones. "God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout ALL generations, for ever and ever! AMEN" (Ephesians 3:20-21). One other thought, after we pray for our children that every fiery dart the enemy has targeted against them be stopped in the Mighty Name of Jesus, likewise pray that same prayer for ourselves too. We can walk in ways that please the Lord as we acknowledge Him in every circumstance. In Christian Love, Rhonda * Scripture prayer calendar deleted |
